Well, my opinion anyway. So at work I have the task of using Windows all day long only to come home for a short bit and use my iMac loaded with Tiger (no Leopard yet…).
So today consisted of editing a word doc, only to have it stall - then proceeded to crash and THEN it took down the entire operating system in one fell swoop. Seriously give me Linux/OS X, something with more stability.
To be fair we are only using XP and there is a possibility Vista is more stable - but I haven’t used it, and I don’t plan too until I am forced to by work.
To make myself happier I went and found the new OS X wallpaper and installed it:

First of all, let me apologize for my obvious absence from blogland for the past few months. quite honestly, i generally don’t have anything very interesting to post (isn’t that sad?). but i realize how disappointed i am when i view my favorite blogs to discover that the writer hasn’t posted anything new. not that anyone is reading this, but i don’t want to be that blogger. so, i will try to be better.
so, about cloud - i swear he is a dog trapped in a cat’s body. he eats everything (to clarify, let me list a few items he has attempted to eat: my crocs (two pairs), my boots, my mittens, my Bible, clotheshangers, buttons, bath puffs, and me and mike). needless to say, it is not unusual to hear one of us yelling, “cloud, don’t eat that!”
so last sunday we came home from church and found cloud acting extremely lethargic. we also discovered that he had vomited on our bed. so we rushed him to the animal emergency room, where he proceeded to vomit more than i thought possible from such a little cat. the vet admitted that she was concerned that he may have eaten something that was lodged in his intestines, which could be life-threatening. she asked if we could keep cloud away from anything he might try to eat that could harm him (in your dreams, lady!). she said that it was also a possibility that he just got sick from his food and that he’d recover with 24 hours of no food, no water, and lots of rest. so we went with that option first, and we took him home.
he was fine over the next 24 hours and eventually perked up and became his old self. we were very relieved.
then, tuesday night we were playing scrabble while cloud played around the house. i was keeping an eye on him, and i noticed that he was playing with a ball. the next time i looked, i noticed a drawstring from my mom’s jacket on the floor. this was cloud’s favorite toy a few months ago, but we haven’t seen it much since. i got up and said, “where’d this come from?” as i picked up the string.my very next thought was, “why is it warm?….and wet? and covered in….EW!” you can guess the rest.
somehow (God only knows), cloud managed to eat that entire string (a little over 12 inches long) in one continuous piece. it then proceeded through his digestive system, which i presume is what made him so sick before he passed it.
i am simultaneously horrified and amazed by this. thankfully, cloud seems to be fine now. we are in the process of “kitty-proofing” our house to remove any other items that might possibly find their way to his stomach.

Well, I used a lot of blogs out there and even tried to get a hold of iWeb/.Mac accounts and found them to not be my cup of tea. We want a simple blog with pictures and I hope there is a way to use iPhoto with this.
That is all.
